The first is the series is going to start off by talking about ways protein can help you shed that unwanted weight by kicking your metabolism into gear.

Your metabolism is the furnace that burns the calories you consume from food, the faster it’s running means the more it’s burning. So by consuming more protein your are turning that furnace on.

Your body uses protein to build and repair muscle tissue, it regulates blood sugar levels, and keeps you feeling full and satisfied. But so important when it comes to helping you lose weight by boosting your metabolism.

Once you’ve eaten protein, your body has to work harder to digest it and the this process is called thermogenesis. Thermogenesis helps boost your metabolism and burn more calories. There are plenty of studies showing  that people who eat a diet high in protein burn more calories over those who eat higher carbohydrates or fatty diets .

So, start adding protein source like chicken, fish, beef, eggs, dairy products or plant-based proteins sources like beans, lentils, and quinoa to your diet.

Protein helps you lose weight by boosting your metabolism. Try to include a source of protein in every meal and aim for around 20-30 grams or more per meal.
